Donations received by Sierra Leone children are processed, data wiped, refurbished and then sold. Revenue from sales is given to selected charities.
Almost all six-year-old and newer working computers can be upgraded to do the six things most people do with computers: Internet browsing, e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and finances. We often install bigger hard drives, more RAM, updated operating systems etc. for computers going to nonprofits, individuals and schools. Up to three-year-old working computers are generally useful as-is.
Yes! We encourage public participation by accepting individual donations, including one-off contributions from people. Additionally, we help in meeting your fundraising goals and raising awareness for our cause.
Only reusable laptops, phones and tablets can be converted into funds for charities. In general, functional devices that are less than seven years old have reuse value and are accepted for donations. Please recycle non-functional devices locally.
All computers are donated by a variety of companies and organisations which means we process and distribute a mixture of brands. We can guarantee all computers meet the following minimum specs:

All computers and devices are fully tested and refurbished to the same high-quality standard – including a comprehensive wipe of all data that is on or has been stored on the device.
It’s important to note that any device or computer which cannot be fixed or repurposed for supply to non-profits is stripped for parts and recycled sustainably and safely.
Yes, Sierra Leone Children’s Fund is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. We email donors a tax receipt for each donation.
Yes. Individuals and businesses can both request a tax-exemption letter. In addition, businesses will receive an impact report detailing how their devices are making a difference for the community and environment.
